U.S. Cities are seeing record High Temperatures

As this article points out, Climate change is intensifying heat in U.S. cities. The average number of days 95°F or hotter increased by 75% between 1976 and 2023. The 50 most populous cities have all experienced an increase in extremely hot days, with cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix seeing over 80 days above 95°F over the summer of 2024. The below table shows a three-year moving average based on annual totals of days 95°F or hotter from 1974 to 2023.

Texas cities are among the worst hit, with San Antonio seeing a 1,276% increase in extremely hot days since 1976.
