Technology

Scientific, sustainable results.

Our PEAK+ energy reducing technology combines the natural process of evaporation with real-time building specific controls that result in significant energy and peak demand savings. By precooling the outdoor air before it enters the condenser coils, the PEAK+ system reduces compressor energy usage up to 30%, without adding any humidity to the indoor air. This innovative approach dramatically increases your HVAC’s efficiency and cooling capacity, while reducing energy usage and peak demand.

PEAK+ monitors the performance of your system in real time through our state-of-the-art Network Operations Center. Our on-site controls communicate back to our NOC via a cellular based cloud software system that allows PEAK+ to optimize system performance.  In addition, we deliver regular reports on your energy and peak demand savings.

Frequently asked questions

How does PEAK+ save money on my utility bill?

The PEAK+ system lowers the incoming air temperature across your HVAC’s condenser coils, allowing the compressors in your HVAC to not work as hard and consume as much electricity.  During hot summer months, your HVAC is what sets your “peak demand” charge with your electric utility, which often accounts for 75% or more of your bill.

How does PEAK+ help the environment?

By reducing the peak demand of your HVAC, you help ensure that your electric utility does not have to build additional power generation, which are costly and may often be powered by fossil fuels.

Are rebates available for the PEAK+ system and why do utilities offer them?

Yes, most electric utilities rebate the PEAK+ system.  Utilities offer these rebates because it is cheaper to help their customers reduce their peak demand than it is for the utility to build new power generation.

Does water transfer over from the PEAK+ system onto my condenser coils?

No. The water is either evaporated or accumulates onto a thin filter media.  As air is passed over the media, the remaining water evaporates.

Is water treatment necessary for the proper operation of the PEAK+ system?

Yes, PEAK+ offers custom water treatment solutions depending on your water quality. PEAK+ treats the water so as to not foul the system’s spray nozzles.

What is the static pressure drop across the PEAK+ system?

Proper airflow is important to the optimal functioning of your HVAC unit. Our system has a very low water column static pressure drop of less than 1/10”.

What are the PEAK+ system maintenance requirements?

For most customers, a spring start-up along with one or two mid summer checks and a fall winterization is all that is required.  Because most customers who install the PEAK+ system no longer have to clean their condenser coils, the cost of system maintenance nets out.
